What is my Purpose?

A few weeks ago, a client asked me about their purpose.

They were confused about what to do with their life and if they were on the right path.

I remember being where they were when I was twenty-two. All I knew was that I was passionate about soil health and astrology, but I was unsure if that was my path.

Was I doing the right thing? Am I ignoring my true work?

Was I wasting my time? Some friends would say I was when they saw me offering astrology readings to other people instead of soil consultations.

I mean, I couldn’t help but love astrology and soil health at the same time. They gave me so much energy when I spoke about it.

But back to my client.

They asked me a common question that I often get in my readings, and frequently, I pushed back and asked, “Are you enjoying what you are doing now?”

Can you sleep at night knowing you’ve done your best with what has been given to you?

If the answer is yes, then you are living your purpose.

You are living on Purpose.

What more could the God/dess ask of you?

After all, at least what I believe, we are here to experience life and gather information for the benefit of the future.

But how does Pluto speak about our purpose in life?

Pluto, the planet that signifies our unconscious becoming conscious, has much to say about our purpose in life.

We are living, breathing human beings with a soul, and from time to time, deal with traumatic events that must be suppressed to pay the bills and care for family.

However, once we are in a safe space, what has been suppressed must come up to be processed or acted out.

It is the natural way of things, and we cannot avoid this Natural Law.

During Pluto times, we face what has happened to us and have a choice not to continue the pattern.

We can become the perpetrators of our past and continue to inflict pain on those around us, or change the trajectory of our lives for the better.

Pluto helps us face our creative individuality and reveals where we have power in any given situation.

The only trick is confessing our truth, not turning away from it, and accepting its repercussions.

To live on purpose requires our ability to make choices and do the best with what we have been given.

Ignoring this natural occurrence allows destruction in our lives and perpetuates the pain that Pluto can also represent.

Purpose is what you make of it

As you continue your healing journey, you see that you can choose your path.

You are truly living out free will because you know who you are, where you stand, and where you have a choice.

“The behavoirs of individuated people are vastly more difficult to foresee than those of the walking wounded, who tend toward a handful of self-numbing patterns and a few deadeningly familiar acts of self-destructiveness or other-destructiveness.”

– The Book of Pluto by Steven Forrest

If my friends, when I was twenty-two, were to come back and tell me I was wasting my time doing both, I would say this is my choice and I’m content with it.

Now, the next time you ask, “What is my purpose?” Follow up with another question: What makes me think I must be somewhere else? What am I ignoring?
